Vertical lines are the one symptom where honest diagnosis matters most: a T-Con board or ribbon-cable fault is affordably repairable, but lines caused by physical panel damage often make repair uneconomical on smaller TVs. A technician can usually tell which you have within minutes.

Which vertical lines are repairable?

Good signs: lines that appear and disappear, change with gentle pressure on the bezel, show after warm-up, or affect a wide band of the screen. These usually trace to the T-Con board, LVDS cable, or COF bonding — repairable in the range of ₹1,500 – ₹5,000 for most models.

Which lines mean panel damage?

A thin, permanent, single-pixel-wide line that was present from the moment of an impact (or after the TV was moved) usually means damaged panel driver lines. That requires panel replacement — worthwhile on large or premium TVs, rarely worthwhile on old 32" sets.

What should you NOT do?
